"Peter" Pancakes

So looking at the picture you might think "Say those look a lot like German pancakes". You would be right. In our family they German pancakes are called Peter Pancakes after my wifes grandfather. He absolute loved those things so they became his pancakes and in honor of him we continue to call them as such Whether you call them Peter pancakes or German pancakes there simple buttery goodness that you can add any fruit to cannot be denied. I love these things and my kids do too. These pancakes are a must in any dads arsenal for easy and delicious food items.

Peter Pancakes

1/4 cube butter

4 eggs

1 cup of milk

1 cup of flour

1/2 tsp salt

  1. Divide butter into the pie pans into to 2 pie pans place in Preheating oven to 425

  2. Mix all the other ingredients in a bowl

  3. Remove pie pans with melted butter from oven and divide batter evenly between them

  4. Place them back in the oven bake for 20 minutes @ 425 degrees It should look something like the image below a deep buttery yellow with golden brown edges curling above and in slightly from the edges of the pan it was baked in.

Top with your favorite toppings

Whip cream and strawberries, peaches or other favorite fruit

Don't have any fruit or cream? No problem use the recipe bellow for an easy syrup recipe

Simple Maple Syrup

3 cup Sugar

1 cup Corn syrup

3 cups of water

3/4 tsp Mapliene Flavor

Mix sugars and water in a sauce pan bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add maple flavoring. Note this makes a ton of syrup think about halving the recipe to 1.5 sugar, 1/2 cup of corn syrup , 1 1/2 cups of water.
